Massage Studio Policies
Appointments Only – At this time we do not take walk-ins, we are by appointment only. Schedule and times are available online. To book your appointment, please go online to
During inclement weather we will abide by Fairfax County Schools inclement weather policy. We value your safety and will accept same day cancellations without any penalties.
Arrival – We ask first time clients to please arrive 15 minutes early, to allow the completion of the intake paperwork. If you have been with us before, or have already filled out the necessary paperwork, please be sure to arrive 5-10 minutes early.
Payment – For first time clients, payment is due before your first massage service. After your first service, payment is due after the massage service has been provided. We take cash, checks (for established clientele only), and credit cards.
Cancellations, No Shows, and Rescheduling – We understand that there are circumstances that may cause you to have to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Please allow a minimum 12 hours to reschedule or cancel your appointment. For all appointments that are either canceled, rescheduled, or no show within the 12-hour timeframe, a $20 fee will be applied. This must be paid before the next service is rendered.
Late Arrivals - We do allot a grace period if you are running behind and will not arrive before your scheduled appointment time. Please be aware this grace period will not always be guaranteed. We will always try and honor your full time, but if there is another appointment after your massage we will only be able to extend for a few minutes. Please plan to arrive at 10-15 minutes early to prevent loss of time on your massage.
Right to Refuse – Elm & Serenity is a professional massage therapy studio and all of our services are strictly nonsexual. If at any point during your massage service we deem your behavior, or any verbal suggestions, sexual in nature – the session will be terminated immediately and payment in full will be due. In extreme cases, we will contact law enforcement.
Client Health – Although this does not happen often, there may be cases where we may not be able to do your massage due to medical reasons. There are certain medical conditions that are contradictory to massage and may possibly cause more harm than good. If during the consultation of your massage, or during your massage, we deem that your service is a contraindication; we will advise you to see your PCP as soon as possible. For your next massage, we would ask that you bring a doctor's note, giving the okay for your massage service.
